About Kathleen

My Story

I loved learning about anatomy from an early age. My first grade teacher said that I practically taught the human body class.

Growing up with chronic migraines taught me a lot about the different types of healthcare. The doctors prescribed medication and said “come back in six months”. The alternative practitioners spent time listening to me and providing out-of-the-box solutions; giving me hope that things could get better. I wanted to provide that same hope and care to others.

As a teenager, my Osteopath let me shadow her when family members came in for treatment. I worked hand-over-hand and felt all these strange sensations. She said I was picking up on things that most people don’t feel until well into their careers, not at sixteen years old. It was then that I knew that I wanted to pursue Osteopathy.

I worked as a massage therapist since 2014, which was wonderful and rewarding; but I became frustrated when people didn’t get better. Studying at the Canadian College of Osteopathy taught me to see the body as an interconnected and interdependent system. It also changed my life by unlocking long-forgotten stress stored in my body; teaching me how to completely rebuild my life as my true self, not the person I had been to survive.

I have chosen to continue practicing as an RMT; integrating what I learned from studying Osteopathy into my treatments. It is a joy to use my passion and experience to support people on their journeys through chronic pain. I can’t wait to do the same for you!

My Practice

I offer an Osteopathic approach within the scope of my RMT treatments. The goal is to find the root cause of pain and dysfunction, and to bring all body systems back into balance and alignment. My approach is primarily gentle, but yields significant results through my finely tuned sense of touch, intuition and thorough knowledge of the interconnectedness of the body’s systems.

I completed the four year classroom and clinical training at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in 2021. I have opted to not pursue the research term required by the CCO to gain the full diploma/title of Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (DOMP). I’ve made this choice to support my health and focus on what I love most; working with patients. This is why I use the title of sOMP (study of Osteopathic Manual Practice).

I strive to maintain a practice that is trauma informed, body positive and supportive for BIPOC, LGBTQ2IA+ and disabled individuals. I also believe that finances should not be a significant barrier to receiving holistic healthcare. You are welcome to inquire about my reduced fee option if you are in need of it.
